SRPS Railtours in 2022

Linlithgow to Aviemore & Boat of Garten on 19 March 2022
This ten-coach train was hauled by West Coast Railways 37 685 Loch Arkaig and SRPS-owned 37 403 Isle of Mull. The journey was via the Edinburgh Suburban Circle then over the Forth Bridge and through Fife and Perth. The weather was fine and sunny with spectacular views of the snow covered mountains along the Highland Line. The excursion was mainly organised for enthusiasts to visit the Strathspey Railway Diesel Gala. During the afternoon the train made three trips along the preserved line to Boat of Garten and Broomhill. Some passengers chose the option of a visit to the Dalwhinnie Distillery. An additional SRPS Railtours carriage, which had been on loan, was attached for the return journey. The train ran close to time throughout the day.

Edinburgh to Plockton & Kyle of Lochalsh on 30 April 2022

The journey was via the Forth Bridge and through Fife to Perth, then over the Highland Line to Inverness and along the Kyle Line. The weather was poor with several prolonged showers. The train ran close to time throughout the day.
