Class 126 Heritage Diesel Unit
Appeal Information

At a cost of a further £300,000, our restoration plan will see the train returned to passenger service in close to original condition in 2007. The work includes the complete interior rebuilding of the two power cars, plus electrical and mechanical work and relies on a combination of volunteers and contractors specialising in railway restoration work.

Early in 2005 the Heritage Lottery Fund generously agreed to provide a further £80,600, bringing their total support of the project to date to £309,000. This grant is dependent on matching support from the SRPS and the public. This matching support can be in the form of donations or in volunteer manhours spent on the project. To enable the project to succeed, at least £20,000 of public support needs to be raised as soon as possible. In addition we require active volunteers to join our group of dedicated enthusiasts at Bo'ness. No prior experience of railway preservation is required, and all necessary training will be provided free of charge.

To support this project with a donation please use the donation form (PDF format).
