Steam-hauled by LMS Stanier Black Five locomotive

Travel on a steam train over the most famous railway bridge in the world and along the new Borders Railway.
These special steam excursions cross the World Heritage designated Forth Bridge to Fife and travel around the Fife Circle, calling at Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy, then along the north shore of the Firth of Forth through Kinghorn, Burntisland and Aberdour with magnificent views across the Forth to Edinburgh and the Lothians. After stopping at Dalgety Bay the journey continues south over the Bridge to Edinburgh then along the new Borders Railway to Galashiels and Tweedbank.
The train will be hauled by an LMS Black Five steam locomotive. The return will be diesel-hauled from Tweedbank to Newcraighall, where the train will be turned so that the rest of the return journey is steam-hauled through Edinburgh and Fife to Linlithgow.
You may choose to book morning coffee and afternoon tea which are served at your seat on the outward and return journeys.
Leave the train at Galashiels for the shops and restaurants of this Borders town
Stay on the train until Tweedbank for optional tours to
Abbotsford for tours of Sir Walter Scott's home and optional lunch.

Our buffet car will be open throughout the journey for the sale of tea, coffee, sandwiches, snacks, confectionery, soft drinks, beers and spirits. In addition morning coffee and afternoon tea (served at your table by our volunteer stewards) is available on this tour and should be booked in advance :
